Earlier today, multiple cloudburst incidents struck the Sainj Valley, Rehla Bihal, and Gadsa areas of Kullu district, unleashing sudden flash floods that wreaked havoc across the region.


🆘 Cloudburst in Kullu – Impact & Aftermath

  • Three individuals missing, presumed washed away while trying to salvage belongings.
  • Extensive damage to houses, school buildings, roads, small bridges, and local infrastructure.
  • Rising river levels in the Beas, Satluj, and Parvati—flood threats persist.
  • Highway disruptions: Aut–Luhri–Sainj route blocked; two ministers stranded.
  • Landslides and debris have blocked roads, including the link between Kaza and Samdoh in Lahaul–Spiti.

🚨 Cloudburst in Kullu – Rescue & Alerts

  • Local administration and SDRF teams are actively engaged in rescue operations.
  • IMD has issued an Orange Alert through June 28, citing “heavy to very heavy rainfall” and heightened landslide risks.
  • Residents are urged to avoid riverbanks and low-lying areas and follow traffic and evacuation directions.
